SHAKESPEARE: A MOST RARE VISION
or HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING and LOVE THE BARD
Our most popular offering by far has proved to be our original production of Shakespeare: A Most Rare Vision. Initially presented in a backyard at the height of Covid it has gone on to numerous performances, overwhelmingly positive response and been invited as far afield as Brussels Belgium and Dubai.
“Shakespeare: A Most Rare Vision or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love The Bard” describes – over the course of 70 minutes, 23 characters, 14 plays and a wealth of personal anecdote – William Colgate’s light-hearted journey from Shakesphobe to Shakesphile.

If only you could go back in time and be my high school English teacher! I would have loved Shakespeare. Great stuff.
it demystifies Shakespeare’s work with laughter and relevance… I loved it… at once hilarious and thought-provoking. What a great piece!
What joy to be taken on this personal exploration of the Bard and savour the scenes from the plays delivered with such mastery and passion. It was just marvelous, a feast.
An incredible performance with beautiful direction. I loved the writing – the way you put the bard’s scenes/soliloquies into a new, personal context really made each of the pieces come to life in a new and often delightfully unexpected way.
your performance was pitch perfect… delightful and dynamic, allowing us to hear the Bard’s meaning and get swept away with how relatable his work is to our lives.

The energy of Bill Colgate’s performance is astounding. Superhuman. He really challenged anything I thought I knew about Shakespeare, acting, theatre. Almost had no sense of time.
I was privileged to be in the audience for Bill Colgate’s unbelievably beautiful performance of his original work, “Shakespeare: a Most Rare Vision”. I urge everyone who hasn’t seen it yet to go. It is BRILLIANT.
Bill Colgate is a “tour de force”. We are in complete awe of his skill, stamina, creativity, knowledge and memory.
I thought Bill Colgate did a fantastic job — brilliant, really. I laughed, I was moved, I was, dare I say it, intellectually stimulated. I came home and dove into my Shakespeare.
