FAQ

Q
I’ve had a look through your website and have a fairly good idea of what you’re about. However I still have some questions.
A
    Fire Away.
Q
How does Muskoka Players differ from other professional groups?
A
We are adaptable to almost any performance situation including the privacy of your own home. Theatre is story telling. Therefore one could make the case that there has been theatre in Muskoka since the first indigenous peoples told tales around a campfire. You supply the “campfire”. We supply the “tale”.
Q
What is a staged reading?
A
The only difference between a staged reading and a full blown performance is that the actors remain in a set position and, as the name suggests, read from a script. In the hands of professionals a staged reading loses nothing in the translation and, as previous audiences have observed, they feel in a way more complicit with the actor. It’s like getting a look behind the curtain. If you’d like to know more about our Staged Readings DROP US A LINE.
Q
If you were to come to my home, when would you perform?
A
Matinee and/or evening. 2:00 and 8:00 are the usual “curtain times” but we’re flexible.
Q
In my home, where would you perform?
A
Indoors. Outdoors there are too many distractions.
Minimum playing area we require is 8’ x 12’.
Q
Can I charge admission?
A
Once our fee is met it is entirely up to you.
Q
Is there a limit to the size of the audience?
A
The only limit is what your home or cottage will accommodate.
